The A1 Engine Repair course prepares you for the ASE A1 certification test and for real engine work in the bay. You will diagnose noises, leaks, and performance complaints, then move through cylinder head, valve train, block assembly, lubrication, and cooling system service using the same content areas ASE tests.

Curriculum
Module 1 — General Engine Diagnosis
- Verifying the customer concern and engine noise diagnosis
- Compression, cylinder leakage, and vacuum testing
- Oil and coolant leak identification
Module 2 — Cylinder Head & Valve Train
- Head removal, inspection, and warpage measurement
- Valve, guide, and seat service
- Camshaft, timing belt, and chain service
Module 3 — Engine Block
- Cylinder bore, piston, and ring measurement
- Crankshaft, bearing, and end-play specifications
- Short block assembly practices
Module 4 — Lubrication, Cooling & ASE Review
- Oil pump, pressure testing, and filtration
- Radiator, thermostat, water pump, and fan diagnosis
- ASE A1 practice test and review
